Stackable Training Chair Shell
A shell built to stack: rim radius and surface hardness chosen for repeat stacking without scuffing.
Training and stacking chairs live or die on the rim. Every time a shell slides across another, the rim takes the load, so a stiff rim scuffs and a soft rim dents. We control rim radius and surface hardness together so a training chair can be stacked and pulled apart thousands of times in a conference room.

Designing for the stacking rim
We radiuse the full rim rather than leaving a square edge, and we specify a finish with enough hard content to resist scuff marks while still bonding well. The two have to be chosen together; a harder finish on its own can chip at the rim.
Why cross-banding matters here
A training chair is dropped onto its feet as often as it is sat on. Cross-banded lay-up spreads that impact into the plies instead of letting one ply split, which is why we do not recommend face-grain lay-up for this application.
Nest pitch and trolley fit
If you are matching an existing stacking chair, send the trolley pitch and we will check the shell nest against it before tooling.
