MOQ, Lead Time & Shipping

Bent Wood MOQ, Lead Time & Shipping

MOQ depends on part geometry and tooling: prototype in 7–15 days, production orders in 15–30 days. We ship FOB Foshan/Shenzhen or CIF to your port, with full export packing and documentation.

We keep the path from enquiry to delivery short: low MOQ, prototypes in 7–15 days, bulk orders in 15–30 days, and global shipping with a full warranty against warping and cracking.

Why our MOQ matters

Most bending suppliers quote production tooling and volumes that a brand cannot justify before a design is proven. We support low MOQ orders so you can test a component, show it to your customer and validate the market — then scale into production on the same tooling, with the same process.

What we need from you to start

  1. Drawings, CAD files, samples or photographs of the part.
  2. Target material and finish.
  3. First-order quantity and expected annual volume.
  4. Any certification requirements (FSC/PEFC, ISO documentation).

Why the lead times are what they are

The honest constraint in bent wood is drying, and it cannot be negotiated. After bending, a part must be dried in its form until the new shape is permanently stable — the lignin re-solidifies as it cools, and the cellulose fibres form new hydrogen bonds as the moisture leaves. Release the part early and it springs back toward straightness; release it before it reaches working moisture content and it will keep moving in your workshop.

That is why a 7–15 day prototype is realistic and a 3-day one is not: the drying stage sets the floor. Any supplier promising bent parts in days is either cutting the drying step — and shipping you parts that will move later — or is not bending in-house. Where a programme genuinely cannot wait, the honest options are to start with a design that uses standard sizes, or to accept a staged delivery.

What determines your specific lead time

  • Tooling — standard sizes and existing moulds ship fastest; a new form adds the build and first-article cycle.
  • Species and section — thicker sections and denser species take longer to dry to working moisture content.
  • Finish — oiled and lacquered finishes add finishing and curing time; raw parts ship sooner.
  • Quantity — production runs scale with kiln and machining capacity, not linearly.
  • Certification — FSC/PEFC stock requires sourcing certified material, which we hold but which adds procurement time if your specification is unusual.

Planning a programme backwards

The programmes that run smoothly are planned from the deadline backwards. A typical path: quotation (24 hours), prototype (7–15 days), your approval and testing (allow a week), production (15–30 days), inspection and documentation (2–3 days), ocean freight to Europe or North America (allow 4–6 weeks door to door), and your incoming QC. Working backwards from a trade fair or a collection launch usually shows that the enquiry needs to start three to four months out — which is why we would rather quote early and hold a slot than promise a compressed schedule we cannot hold.

Packaging that protects the curve

Bent parts are packed to support the curve along their full length, with corner protection at the bends — a part that arrives kinked cannot be straightened at your bench. Frames and aprons are banded in shaped cartons or crated; panels are edge-protected and flat-packed where the curve allows. Every shipment carries inspection reports and the standard warranty against warping and cracking in transit and use, and if a bundle arrives damaged we replace it.

Working with us

Send your drawings or samples with the target material, finish, first-order quantity and any certification requirement. We quote within 24 hours with feasibility feedback — including anything in the design that will not bend reliably, or any radius that will need lamination instead of solid bending. If your deadline is tight, tell us the date and we will tell you honestly whether it is achievable, and what the options are if it is not.

For programmes already running elsewhere, we can usually quote from your existing drawings or samples and deliver prototypes in the standard 7–15 days — which is usually the fastest way to compare a new supplier against your current one.

Why low MOQ matters more than it sounds

A low minimum order quantity is not a discount — it is a risk structure. When a supplier can only sell production volumes, every design decision is committed before it is tested: the tooling is built, the batch is run, and the design flaw is discovered by your customer. When prototypes and small first batches are supported, the same programme can validate the part, show it to buyers, and test it in assembly — and only then commit to volume, on the same tooling, with the same process.

For a brand developing a new range, this changes the economics of iteration. The first order stops being a bet and becomes a test. That is the whole reason our structure supports prototype quantities, and it is why we would rather quote a small first batch honestly than push a volume order that suits our kiln schedule rather than your programme.

What we need to quote accurately

Speed of quotation depends on completeness of the brief. The fastest quotes come from enquiries that include: the drawing or sample; the target material and finish; the first-order quantity and expected annual volume; the application and any test standard; and any certification requirement. With those, feasibility comes back with the price — and if the design needs adjusting to bend reliably, you hear it at quotation stage rather than after a broken sample.

Frequently asked questions

What is your minimum order quantity?

We support low MOQ orders — prototype runs from a single piece — so you can validate a design before committing to volume production.

How long do prototypes take?

Prototypes are delivered in 7–15 days after drawings and specifications are confirmed.

How long do bulk orders take?

Bulk orders are completed in 15–30 days after sample approval, depending on quantity and finish.

Do you ship worldwide?

Yes — we ship globally, with regular programmes supplying the EU, US and Southeast Asia. Shipping terms are confirmed with your quotation.

What warranty do you provide?

A full warranty against warping and cracking during transportation and use, backed by a secure return and replacement policy.
