Bent Wood Certifications & Quality Standards
Our bent wood parts are produced under ISO 9001 quality management with BIFMA tested constructions, CARB Phase 2 and TSCA Title VI compliant adhesives, and FSC or PEFC chain-of-custody material on request. Dimensional tolerance ±0.5mm.
Quality at JiangXing is documented, not assumed. Our facility operates under ISO 9001 quality management, every part passes a six-stage inspection, and FSC/PEFC-certified materials are available for programmes that require chain-of-custody documentation.
Certifications and standards
| Quality management | ISO 9001 |
| Responsible sourcing | FSC and PEFC chain-of-custody materials available on request |
| Inspection | Six-stage QC from raw material to finished part |
| Testing | Moisture content, adhesive strength, dimensional accuracy, surface finish |
| Documentation | Material certificates and inspection reports supplied with shipment |
What the six-stage inspection covers
- Incoming material — species, moisture content and grade verified before processing.
- Post-bending — shape and radius checked against the form.
- Post-drying — moisture content re-checked once the shape has locked.
- Post-machining — dimensions verified to ±0.5 mm by CNC measurement.
- Surface — finish quality and sanding grade inspected.
- Pre-shipment — final audit against your specification, with report.
Sourcing for EU and US programmes
For European and North American programmes we supply FSC/PEFC-certified timber and the matching chain-of-custody paperwork, so bent components can be specified into projects that carry sustainability requirements — hospitality fit-outs, contract furniture tenders and retail programmes.
What each certification actually means
Certification language is used loosely in this industry, so it is worth being precise about what each document does and does not tell you:
- ISO 9001 — a quality management system standard. It certifies that the facility has documented processes, defined inspection stages and traceable records — not that any individual part is good. It is the floor, not the ceiling.
- FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) — a chain-of-custody standard for responsible forestry. An FSC claim on your components means the timber can be traced back through the supply chain to a certified forest. The document that matters is the chain-of-custody certificate that accompanies the goods, not a logo on a website.
- PEFC — the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification, serving the same purpose through a different system; common for European timber. Many programmes accept either.
What none of them do is certify that a bent part will hold its geometry. That is what the six-stage inspection and the sample approval process are for — certifications cover the system and the material, inspection covers the part.
What you receive with a shipment
| Document | What it shows |
| Inspection report | Results of the six-stage checks: moisture content, dimensions, surface, final audit |
| Material certificate | Species and grade of the timber used in your batch |
| Chain-of-custody documentation | FSC/PEFC traceability, where certified material was specified |
| Approved sample record | The signed-off sample your production batch was matched against |
| Tooling record | The form and process parameters used, so repeat orders reproduce the part |
Emissions and chemical requirements
Programmes supplying offices, schools and healthcare in North America are often specified against emissions standards — the ANSI/BIFMA X7.1 family covers VOC and formaldehyde emissions from furniture components, and European programmes increasingly reference equivalent testing. Tell us the standard your market requires at quotation stage and we will confirm the adhesive system and finish that meet it, and supply the corresponding documentation. This is a specification decision, not something to discover after the goods are made.
What we will not claim
We will not put a certification logo on a page unless the certificate exists and covers the material we actually ship to you. If your programme needs FSC/PEFC chain of custody, we supply certified stock and the matching paperwork; if it needs a test standard we do not hold, we will say so at quotation stage rather than at delivery. The point of documentation is that it can be checked.
How certification works in practice
Ordering certified material is a specification decision made at quotation stage, not a filter applied afterwards. The flow:
- State the requirement — FSC, PEFC, an emissions standard, or “no certification needed”. This goes on the enquiry.
- We confirm availability — certified stock is held, but an unusual specification may need sourcing lead time.
- It goes on the purchase order — the certification requirement is written into the order, so the right material is allocated to your batch.
- Documentation ships with the goods — chain-of-custody paperwork and material certificates accompany the shipment, matched to your batch.
The failure mode to avoid is discovering a certification requirement after the goods are made — at that point the only options are re-making the batch or shipping without documentation. Both are expensive; stating the requirement up front costs nothing.
Quality beyond certification
A certificate tells you the system exists; it does not tell you the part is right. That is what the inspection stages are for, and they are worth understanding because they map onto the ways bent parts actually fail:
- Incoming material — species, grade and moisture content verified before any bending, because a blank at the wrong moisture content will not hold its shape.
- Post-bending — shape and radius checked against the form; a part that has lifted or split at this stage is caught here, not at your bench.
- Post-drying — moisture content re-measured once the geometry has locked; this is the check that predicts whether the part will move in service.
- Post-machining — finished dimensions verified to ±0.5 mm, including fixing points and interfaces.
- Surface — finish quality and sanding grade inspected against the approved sample.
- Pre-shipment — a final audit against your specification, with the report that accompanies the goods.
Six stages sound excessive until you have received a batch of bent parts that warped in transit — at which point the question is always which stage was skipped. Ask any supplier to walk you through their stages; the answer tells you most of what you need to know.
Frequently asked questions
Can you supply both FSC and PEFC material?
Yes — both are available on request. Which one your programme needs usually depends on your market and your client’s specification; many programmes accept either.
Do you charge extra for certified material?
Certified stock carries its own procurement cost, which is reflected in the quotation where certified material is specified. The difference is usually modest; the documentation is the point.
Is your ISO 9001 certificate available on request?
Yes — the certificate and scope are supplied to clients who need them for their own vendor qualification.
What if my programme needs a standard you do not hold?
We will tell you at quotation stage. It is better to know before the order than after the goods are made.
Frequently asked questions
What certifications do you hold?
Our facility operates under ISO 9001 quality management. FSC and PEFC chain-of-custody certified wood materials are available for programmes that require documented responsible sourcing.
Can you supply documentation for EU and US compliance?
Yes — we provide material certificates, inspection reports and, where required, chain-of-custody documentation with your shipment.
Do you test parts before shipment?
Every part passes a six-stage inspection covering moisture content, adhesive strength, dimensional accuracy and surface finish, with reports available on request.
What about formaldehyde and adhesive standards?
Tell us the standard your market requires and we will confirm the adhesive system and provide the corresponding documentation.
